MEMORIES are nothing but virtual representative of YESTERDAY’S PIECES, waiting to be recalled and served as reminder for today and tomorrows. The proposal is conceived as raw culmination; a stone, a raw natural monument that symbolises the beginning of everything. 

Stone, when is formed, comes with multiple faces and edges. Each face consists of a significant history and memory behind, how it breaks apart and metamorphoses into the form today. Each edge representing the hardship of every significant history gone through, crystallising those memories to become scars on the physical body.

Our monument, fascinated and inspired by those fractured surfaces, aimed to be a MEMORIAL that assembles PIECES OF MEMORY together, emerged to be a monolithic display of the history of Singapore, standing steadily and outstandingly in the skyline of a city garden…
